What are my legal rights and responsibilities?

This lesson is part 4 of a sequence of 6 lessons addressing the key enquiry: Does our legal system protect citizens’ rights?

The lesson focuses on youth justice and considers young people’s rights and the responsibilities of the police and how and why Youth Courts are different to adult courts.

Students will work towards answering the following learning questions:
  1. What happens if you are stopped and searched by the Police?
  2. What happens if you are interviewed by the Police?
  3. What is a Youth Court?
