New year, new learning: view key events

The new year brings renewed optimism and opportunities to invest in yourself.

Last year in numbers

In 2021, we saw over 1,200 members register for one of our 21 CPD sessions, conferences and network meetings. This included 118 members networking and sharing best practice at our informal virtual staffrooms, and nearly 200 across our GCSE Network events.

Moving forward

As we embark on our next 20 years of supporting the teaching of high quality Citizenship education, we are delighted to have benefited from a grant from the NCS Trust C.I.C., which will help us to support our national network of teachers and schools. The funding has enabled ACT to expand its staff team so that we can increase the range and regularity of support services for our growing membership and to embed Citizenship into more schools.

As part of this new funding, ACT will also be conducting a significant research project in partnership with the University of Middlesex, looking at the factors that drive better Citizenship outcomes in schools.

We have set out an extensive CPD and events plan for 2022, which aims to build your knowledge, skills and confidence to teach high quality Citizenship education irrespective of your prior experience. Some of these are listed below.
