Become an ACT Teaching Ambassador
Join ACT’s network of Teaching Ambassadors who help champion Citizenship education regionally and nationally.
Are you a teacher who is committed to driving up their Citizenship subject expertise and cascading knowledge to colleagues? Then this is the perfect role for you. Join the ACT team in a voluntary capacity and help spread best practice.
Criteria to become a Teaching Ambassador
- An Honours degree, or above
- At least three years’ teaching experience in Citizenship (ACT will also consider previous experience relevant to the subject where exceptional commitment to Citizenship education outcomes is demonstrated.)
- Committed to promoting learning and to raising Citizenship education teaching standards in schools through your own teaching practice
- Awareness of recent developments in the subject, delivery in schools and a clear vision of what good practice may look like in a range of settings
- Personally committed to self-evaluation, development and embedding CPD in your practice and reflecting on your performance
- Demonstrable commitment to supporting Citizenship CPD of others in your school and beyond
- An up-to-date membership of ACT. Upon successfully being appointed as a Teaching Ambassador, your membership will be upgraded to an organisation membership for free, for the duration of your time as a Teaching Ambassador.

- Include your CV and a short cover letter no longer than 2 sides of A4 paper detailing how you meet the criteria (above) and sharing your interest in shaping the Citizenship subject community
